So there are probably psychiatric, social, spiritual and other reasons why mass shootings occur, but please, please, please, let’s make it harder for people to get guns.
There was recently a mass shooting in Serbia, and while I’m not thinking US private disarmament is anything we need, some Americans in the NRA may be fearful of that.
In truth, we need gun control, and according to this article, “Suspect arrested after second mass shooting in Serbia” via BBC News, the Serbs are dead set on some heavy restrictions on guns… they mean business***
Here in the USA, we have trouble outlawing hangnails, let alone having some reasonable gun control laws, and we have more mass shootings than anywhere in the world.
Go figure…
What is it going to take before Congress passes some tough gun laws?
***Here are the measures mentioned:
President Vucic called the shooting “an attack on us all” and announced a host of new security measures, including a plan to hire 1,200 new police officers.
He also announced a ban on new gun permits, tougher penalties for illegal weapons possession and psychological checks of gun owners. He said the new laws would result in the “practical disarmament” of Serbia.
