(Not in my back yard!)
Not in my backyard, right? Someone else will take care of it; someone else can deal with that.
The problem with this is philosophy is that eventually someone else’s backyard will become your backyard. The main problem of course, it’s obvious, that it’s unethical and unkind to not care about something just because it doesn’t impact you directly. Or indirectly.
Everybody is involved in everything one way or another, so when you ask someone else to handle, and what you fail to do, will come back to you as well.
I think the first thing to remember is just to be kind and to care for our neighbors, the second thing, if we can’t remember the first thing well enough, is that what effects our neighbors will eventually come around to us. Maybe not as bad maybe not in the same way, but eventually, if things aren’t done, everyone is going to suffer.
I think that’s really important to remember and I just wanted to get on my soapbox for a minute and let you know what I thought. Better to be kind for kindness sake, but if that’s not your method of operations, at least consider doing it to keep your future brighter.
Some people call this Karma. Shakespeare said, “… this do, so grace and mercy at your most need, help you.” Spike Lee calls it, “Do The Right Thing”, and The Bible calls it the law of sowing and reaping…
