Volume1
Today we headed to Monterey. We’d been credited for a visit to the aquarium we couldn’t complete when I’d been ill, so today, months later, we decided to make use of it.

It was nice of the folks at the Monterey Bay Aquarium to let us come back for free; we’d barely started our visit when I’d gotten sick.
Today I was feeling fine and the ride down south was fairly quick and easy.
Once we arrived, the tour was nice; it was self-guided. We covered all the downstairs areas and then headed to the aquarium café.
Places like this tend to be pricey and I got my food separately from my wife, who was getting something to drink. My bill was $36 but I got a large bowl of delicious corn chowder, a big croissant with chicken salad, watercress & sun-dried tomatoes and a craft soda; it was a delicious feast.

The dining room was incredibly noisy and packed but I felt good, so it didn’t bother me. I turned down my hearing aids all the way and dug in to my repast with pleasure.
Later, after we toured the upstairs, we went to the Ghirardelli ice cream shop and had exorbitantly costly ice cream sundae’s. Mine was non-dairy, but it tasted real. My lungs didn’t complain and neither of did my taste-buds.
Grateful for the excursion, we piled into our car and headed back to the Bay Area.
